System Migration

PDF Icon  Ultra Secure Infrastructure Overview

As part of the Bunker’s standard solution provisioning process, we provide a proven, Ultra* secure System Migration service to help move your system infrastructure from one location to another.  This service is designed to remove the headache of switching platforms by providing you with a rigorously tested migration roadmap that’s hands-on managed by The Bunker’s senior technical team.

Our System Migration service can be deployed to help port both new and existing systems onto a Bunker Secure Co-Location, Secure Managed Co-Location, or Secure Fully Managed Hosted platform.

Our System Migration service follows a standard, three step process as follows:

Migration Scoping

  • System analysis
    • …we evaluate your overall system set-up, down to the individual component level to understand how best to switch platforms

  • New service objectives
    • …we work with you to establish your new core system requirements

  • Analysis of current ‘pain points’
    • …we work with you to isolate your current system issues

  • Business impact
    • …we provide for you a business impact/cost plan for migration of services

  • Security, availability and scalability requirements
    • …we work with you to establish a new set of security, availability, scaling and performance parameters

  • Strategy – new system or existing?
    • …we provide recommendations on how best to achieve these new parameters and how to re-use or migrate from your current hardware and software assets

Migration Planning

Dual Centre Delivery

  • One-step or phased?
    • …based on your requirements we recommend either a phased migration or a one-step process to switch to your new platform

  • Delivery of plan
    • …we deliver a detailed migration plan, providing an extensive break down of all milestones, resources, review cycles and technical development and implementation issues.  This will include recommendations on best routes for final system delivery, including:

    • One-step or phased process?

    • Key milestones

    • ‘Go live’ management

Migration Implementation

  • Implementation will be managed using the following key methodologies:

    • Parallel system implementation

    • Virtualised IP tunnelling and network management (to facilitate system switchover)

    • Bunker switchover and ‘Go Live’ management
